To showcase the vast array of possibilities within the Masterplug Pro-XT range to potential buyers, I was tasked with designing an online cable reel configurator that allowed the user to build their own cable reel from a selection of options. As a result, I have drastically cut the response time between concept and visualisation for these products and successfully aided the sales teams by allowing them to produce a high quality personalised product catered to the individual customers needs.
I designed the original look in Adobe InDesign CC and when a style was agreed I coded the front-end using HTML and CSS. The web department added the functionality. This job also required me to render each individual component and the management of a database of these renders for them to be used on the webpage.
For this campaign I worked closely with the senior product manager and marketing manager to produce artwork for advertising across multiple platforms. These included tube and overground trains, car parks, major print publications (GQ, Stuff, Ideal Home, Home & Garden) as well as our online campaign. I designed, coded and distributed all of the HTML emails alongside designing, scheduling and creating audience profiles for adverts across Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. I also oversaw an AdWords campaign leading up to and during the product launch.
During my time at Luceco plc, I have been designing & creating trade advertisements for three of the brands under the Luceco plc umbrella. I have provided key electrical & lighting trade publications with both front covers and internal advertisements on a monthly basis. I managed and modified these advertisements to be in keeping with product launches and current sales trends in the relevant markets.
Well-known lighting & electrical trade publications included: Electrical Wholesaler, Professional Electrician, Housebuilder & Developer, Connections (NICEIC), Architects Journal, Show House Magazine, FM World, Government Business Magazine, ECN, etc.
As part of an ongoing hobby, I have been working on my digital illustration skills using Adobe Illustrator. I get great enjoyment from this and believe the development of these skills will be transferable to many professional applications.
Many of the merchandising jobs I am tasked with for the portable power brand Masterplug require 3D mock-ups of the final pieces.
These examples of POS marketing were created using Google Sketchup (CAD software) and Luxion Keyshot 6 (3D rendering software). The original artwork was created in Adobe InDesign CC.
As part of my role as senior graphic designer for Luceco plc, I have designed, coded and distributed regular HTML email campaigns for four different brands.
The emails have been designed to work as a marketing tool for both the retail and trade sides of the business and have focused on customer acquisition as well as customer retention.
A full brand identity created for Bullfinch Properties, a letting agent in Medway. I worked closely with the managing director to create a logo and colourway that captured the strength and integrity of the brand. This involved incorporating a bullfinch into the design, a loyal animal that reflected the company’s ethos.
BG Electrical launched a new range of Wi-Fi extender sockets and I was tasked with the front-end design and coding of the interface for connecting the socket to a Wi-Fi network. The webpages I created were originally mocked up in InDesign CC and then coded using HTML and CSS. An important aspect of this job was to ensure the webpages were simple to use and worked efficiently on both desktop and mobile devices.
A C5 catalogue updated for BG Electrical to display all of the products on their inventory for trade customers. This job required the removal and addition of new products in new and existing ranges while re-designing the look to be simpler and easier to understand.
This is some personal branding I designed for a monthly radio show myself and two friends have on Sub.FM. This was a fun look at how we could brand ourselves to not be taken too seriously; a theme that runs through the hosting/commentary of our shows.
This is a collection of our logo and an array of shareable social media assets.

A selection of packaging created for Sacred Coffee, an artisan Coffee House in London that produces its own coffee and associated products.
This packaging has been produced for the retail marketplace to be in-keeping with Sacred’s premium brand image.
I was tasked with creating a full brand identity, including logo, business cards, menus, shop frontage, party invitations and social media accounts for a dessert restaurant in Royal Tunbridge Wells.
Upon close discussion with the managing director, the brand identity for Swirls was created with the idea of a premium look and feel while still maintaining a large element of fun and enjoyment.
Alongside creating all print and digital marketing material for the brand, I managed multiple social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
This project involved creating and adapting Masterplug’s packaging guidelines to showcase a new product addition that did not quite fit into any of the pre-established product ranges. It required me to brand the product to a more retail focused audience (as opposed to the usual B2B client base) and create all imagery and assets for the product.
I was tasked with designing and creating lifestyle imagery for both products in the range (as seen below), along with the hero shots of the products. Through multiple concept refinements I found it best to draw vector illustrations of the products for the front and rear of the packaging. As I felt this enhanced the imagery allowing the product stand out more on the shelf.
Throughout my life I have been a keen drawer and will always treasure the physicality and organic nature of using a pencil and paper. I also believe it is important to maintain a good level of hand drawing skill for sketching out ideas prior to digital work or to convey ideas visually in a shorter period of time.
